Ladybanks Rose Ring
Durham, North Carolina
30x40 inch plexi-mounted metallic C-print
2004

The best opportunities often present themselves as you're packing up your gear to leave. In the case of this photograph, I had made it all the way home after a long night of shooting. When I stepped up onto my front porch, however, I triggered the porch's motion light, which lit up the left side of the Ladybanks Rose bush twining on the porch railing. The soft bluish light illuminating the petals on the right is the light of dawn.
