Samantha Schafrank: This series of photographs investigates the unrealistic standards imposed on women of the twenty-first century, resulting in a nationwide epidemic of low self-esteem related to body image.  Through close-up photographs of my subjects “greatest imperfections” in studio light, I hope to capture both the insignificance and beauty behind each “imperfection.”
