I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood with lots of both avid and casual gardeners. When I began shooting almost exclusively at night with large-format bellows cameras, my initial inspiration was my kind neighbors' in-town garden landscapes. They grew accustomed to finding me under a shrub, my tiny bike light pointed at a scene.
