November Tomatoes

We have volunteer micro cherry tomatoes that come up every year in our tiny front garden. They have decent flavor, but if you pick them, the skins immediately tear so instead I just pull them up, stems and all, at the end of the season. Pity the poor girlfriend who can’t make toast in the kitchen because *this* [waves arms in the general direction of the tomatoes] has to sit undisturbed and decaying on the kitchen countertop until it’s “ready” to be a photograph.
