Avebury, in Western England, is one of the largest and most complex prehistoric ritualistic landscapes in the UK, with multiple stone circles, ceremonial pathways, and beech grove barrows. I photographed this Avebury megalith by the strong light of a full winter’s moon. Avebury was one of the sites I photographed for the “Our Disappearing Darkness and Recreating True Night” Fulbright of 2021/2022, a project designed to bring an evocation of prehistoric night to present-day people.
