Carn Gluze, in West Penwith near Cape Cornwall, was used over a long timeframe and could be considered both a Neolithic and Bronze Age chambered cairn or entrance grave. The crescent moon had set a few hours before, leaving the starry sky and a foreground illuminated by my portable shop light. At the scene I was concerned with getting the exposure of the stars and the exposure of the foreground in balance. It wasn’t until the next morning that I saw the profusion of white wildflowers mirroring the stars, which of course is what makes the picture. That sort of serendipity is what photographers live for.
