Carwynnen Quoit was a tough one to photograph. I had several different nights where just nothing worked. I guess Carwynnen knew to make me wait for a setting crescent moon. The clouds are playing a magical role here, as typically it’s difficult to get the moon to register in a photograph the way as it looks to us. However, the wispy clouds over the moon cut the light just enough to make the exposure perfect for showing the actual outline of the crescent moon. I never expect to get that kind of exquisitely targeted help from atmospheric conditions again in my lifetime.
